The company, now 4 years old, was founded by Director and Chartered Scientist, Dr. Phillip Smurthwaite, following 15 years operational, project and business management experience in the energy sector. He spent six years as an operational Chemist at RioTintoAlcan’s 420 MW Lynemouth coal-fired power plant, seven years in Consultancy, (PB Power, five years; ESR Technology, two years) and two years in Strategic Growth for Alstom Power Service, Region 4 (UK, Northwest Europe and Asia-Pacific). He has a first class honours degree in Applied Chemistry (with Chemical Process Technology) from Northumbria University and a PhD in Reaction Kinetics from The University, Leeds.
